What Is PHP at Archangel Centers?

Archangel Centers' Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Tinton Falls, NJ, is the most intensive level of care we offer. PHP runs 5-6 hours per day, 5 days a week, providing a structured therapeutic environment comparable to inpatient treatment intensity without overnight stays.

PHP is designed for clients who are medically stable but require comprehensive daily clinical support to begin their recovery. It serves as an ideal step-down from residential treatment or a direct entry point for clients completing medical detox.

What Happens in PHP at Archangel Centers?

Individual Therapy

Every PHP client meets with a licensed therapist multiple times per week. Individual sessions address trauma, co-occurring mental health conditions, relapse triggers, and personalized recovery goals.

Group Therapy

Structured daily group sessions cover CBT, DBT skills, relapse prevention, life skills, and peer accountability. Group sizes are intentionally kept small to maximize engagement and clinical safety.

Psychiatric Services

Clients requiring psychiatric evaluation and medication management receive those services through our clinical partnership. Dr. Joseph Milisitz, PhD, LMHC, leads our clinical oversight.

Family Support

PHP includes family education sessions. Addiction is a family disease, and healing works best when the people closest to you understand the process.

What PHP Does NOT Include
